Intern Spotlight: Cam Youngblood

The Foundation is happy to welcome Cam Youngblood as our summer intern! Since June, Cam has been assisting the Foundation with data analysis and research, among other projects.

Cam is currently a junior at Grinnell College, a small liberal arts school in rural Iowa, majoring in Cultural and Religious Studies and was previously ordained as a Buddhist monk.

“I am interested in learning about the various fields in the non-profit world and how they differ. I am also excited to gain a better understanding of the role that philanthropy plays in the non-profit sector as well as the various ways that different organizations interact with each other to create the most benefit for those they are serving,” Cam says of his first role in non-profit. Prior to his internship at the Foundation, he was a substitute and after school teacher for four years.

“I’m excited to have Cam join us as an intern this summer. Our internship program is an extension of our hope for programs like YIP: to empower our community’s next generation of philanthropists and leaders,” says Jay Kim, Community Foundation MetroWest Executive Director.

Originally from San Francisco, Cam has spent most of his life as a resident of Newton, MA.

In his free time, Cam enjoys being active. When he’s not practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or playing on a recreational softball team, a game of pick-up basketball, or lawn volleyball with friends, he enjoys going to the beach, taking his dog on walks, and baking.
